Deja vu all over again...

Right. So. Lali hasn't been sleeping well recently. Lots of nightmares, including a variation on the old "giant spider on the pillow" one, in the form of "spider dropping towards your face from the ceiling". That kept me up a bit, looking for the blasted thing. Kept me awake longer than the giant robot hell bent on smashing my house down around my ears so it could get to me and kill me. (Torchwood made a brief appearance early on in that and were utterly ineffectual. Even in my dreams they can't achieve basic competence.) But not as bad as last night's combination of house-falling-down-with-me-in-it and SADAKO IS TRYING TO KILL YOU! (Yup, the creepy dead girl from The Ring. She had a go at strangling me while I tried to strangle her and the house fell over.) Which is never fun.

And I think I know why I've been stressy and fitful and having such lovely anxiety dreams and other random waking-up-at-three-in-the-morning stuffs, but never mind.

Anyway, the point is, I got up this morning in a hurry and went to evict Mum from the bathroom as soon as she was finished, with the fateful words, "Could we swap places, please, 'cause I'm about to keel over otherwise."

Mum managed to open the door, at which point I keeled over.

I should point out that this is the second time in my life I've ever fainted. The first time was... standing in the self same bathroom doorway. Then, I woke up on the floor with my head an inch or so from the bathroom scales, and a nosebleed. This time, for a little variety, I went in a different direction. Ie, headfirst into the landing window, apparently bashing my ribs on the windowsill, and collapsing on the stacks of books underneath.

Nothing bleeding, nothing broken, but my nose does hurt.

Gave Mum a hell of a fright, too. :/ She insists it was heat-induced and proceeded to steal my duvet and fling my window open so wide I'll have whole hordes of actual!spiders descending upon me tonight, never mind the hallucinatory ones.

Anyway. Torchwood's back on the radio next week, and on TV the week after, so the Radio Times promises me. It depresses me beyond belief that there haven't been lots and lots of adverts for either. :(

So have you got any idea what caused it? (My fainting spells have always been because... actually I don't know either)

Last time, it was pretty obvious what caused it - I was in the middle of a rather serious two-week illness and hadn't been able to eat anything for a few days... This time? I was fine when I got up from Sadako strangling me at 3 in the morning. Then I just woke up at 9 and felt pretty lousy. I wasn't even too hot until after I'd fainted. I guess it must have been that, but it doesn't quite make sense. :/

*hugs back* There's a nice picture in the Radio Times radio section, though. That's the best thing about the TW situation at the moment.

Ai. I think with the nightmares I just have to deal with the underlying anxiety bit. I'm just not particularly keen on doing that. ^_^' And Mum and I can't really sleep in the same room without disturbing each other. XD Thank you for the concern, though!

It's disturbing that the BBC isn't promoting Torchwood. Meanwhile across the Pond, BBCAmerica has been promoting it heavily. But they're not the ones funding it. *worries*

I slept utterly dreamlessly last night, which confirms to me that the underlying problem *was* what I thought it was. Or is what I think it is. :/ I know that makes no sense whatsoever, but it means I can deal with it. (Care to send Ianto my way anyway? He could try again. And bring Jack if he thinks that'll help. (: )

*worries also* Less than two weeks to go and no trailers. They should be advertising by now...

Have you considered sleeping a stuffed animal? When I'm really upset it really helps. Have you done the hot milk or soothing tea at bedtime? Put a poster on your ceiling. You can look at Capt Jack or someone else as you fall asleep. Sleep with a night light.

Maybe you can get a small dose of mild tranquilizers?

'sfunny, I normally do have a black panther cub with me. But it got too hot to have her in about March and she hasn't made it back since. And my room is covered with posters. ;) I have Van Helsing, the Fellowship of the Ring, Jack Sparrow and Martin the Warrior keeping an eye out. ;) They's good suggestions, I must say, since I use them already! ^_^'

Yikes! For the spider fear. I share it. I share sleeping badly too. So, yikes! Hope it gets better soon!

And the Beeb? Totally want to see ads! The Radio Times has a nice (spoilery) photo series of it, though, which eased my anxiety a bit. But still, when I turn on Eastenders, I want to be surprised by lots of creepy kids going, "We are coming...!"

Much sympathy. The spider-dream was a bit of a shocker the first time it turned up, but it's so frequent these days I'm almost au fait with it. Which is probably why it's mutated a bit. ^_^'

Photo series? I've seen the RT's "Triumvirate" pic, which is muchas prettias, but nothing else... *is intrigued* Is that online? I'll want to see it after the series has aired, if it's still around... ;)

(Personally, I'm waiting for Wimbledon to finish for the day and then have a bit of a hexagon-T flickering in the background... Oh, the good old days of the run-up to series 2...)

Ooh, Zombie!dreams! I had one of those once. :/ Not fun. Fortunately it was set in a completely different place to my bedroom, so once I was awake it was fine. That's the thing with the spiders - there's always the possibility they're real... Still, zombies are by nature slow-moving and stupid, so if they do turn up you can make good your escape.

Yowchie. I hope you didn't hit anything on the way down. For me, the worst thing about it is losing those three seconds between vertical and horizontal. I hate being out of the loop for even that long. I would freak out beyond belief if Torchwood ever retconned me. (Which would probably help me work on breaking it, to be honest, but still.)

I'm sorry you aren't sleeping well. Have you considered interpreting your dreams? Dreams are usually metaphorical and I've found that if you figure out what the dreams represent and fix it in real life the dreams tend to fade. I mean if you think you know what it is you might try resolving that first but if that doesn't work this is better than nothing.

I'm glad there was nothing bleeding & nothing broken. Your nose will stop hurting. :)

We don't get Torchwood on the radio. :( Please explain.

Dreamwise, things have been much better the past couple of days. Entertaining dreams, instead of anxious and disturbing ones. I mean, last night I was going to a poetry reading in a royal castle and Arthur (as per BBC's Merlin...) and I got into a spot of bother, so we were running around with me magicking our way out of trouble every now and again. Fun times. ;)

Ahyes, Torchwood. You remember how they did a radio play in September to celebrate the switching-on of the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland? They've done three more. They're being broadcast Wednesday, Thursday and Friday over here. I have every faith that kind and lovely people will make versions of them available online... (:

^_^' The only reason I got back to sleep after that one was that I sat down and went, "Okay, yes, you watched The Ring all the way through. But that was over four years ago. If she was coming, she'd've been here within the week."
