Right, because I'm far too tempted, this is opening up much quicker than I'd planned. :D Thanks go to those who gave me prompts (and if you want to add some, do feel free - it's never too late).

Right. Here's how this works.

Here are Thirty Flavours of Torchwood.

You pick a prompt. Then, for that prompt, you pick any member of the Torchwood Team (past or present) or any such combination you please, add an extra condition or two if you want, and I write it for you in the comments.

The idea is that I write a drabble-size piece, but they may start at 100 words and head off into the sunset... And I will put the whole set in one post when they're done, for neatness' sake. :)

Crossovers are allowed, I suppose, but I'm not too well aware of many other fandoms (not even Buffy) so be cautious...

Cold

Whenever he gasped in that first breath, that sudden flood of air and life, his lungs always burned for a few moments. It was cold. So cold it cut at his throat and clawed its way into his insides, ripping and tearing – but just for a few seconds. Then the cold spread out through his body and dissipated into the surrounding air. A matter of moments and he would be warm again. That was how it worked. Always. He knew that.

But Ianto knew better.

And Jack, staggering, with help, out of the collapsing Hub, and unable to shake the bone-deep, aching coldness, thanked every god he could think of that Ianto knew to grab his coat as they went.

Actually, I always put it down to Ianto having Things He's Responsible For and that those color his world view even in the midst of the hub collapsing:

Ianto is responsible for coffee procurement.
Ianto is responsible for the care and feeding of Myfanwy.
Ianto is responsible for the care and feeding of Captain Jack Harkness.
Ianto is responsible for making sure Jack has his coat when he wants it.
...etc.
