Not Too Broken
“There are times,” Ianto says idly, looking up at the holographic light show above them, “I really quite like alien technology.”
He expects Jack to make some idle joke about the many and varied uses said technology can be put to, but instead Jack sighs wordless agreement and leans against him a bit more.
For a few moments they’re silent, and Ianto admires the symphony of colour playing out on the night sky. They’ve been up here long enough that it no longer bothers him they’re sitting on a cloaked spaceship (which is in turn hiding them and the lights from anyone below) up above Cardiff. The only thing starting to get to him is the cold, so he shuffles a little bit closer to Jack, grateful when Jack responds by spreading his greatcoat around his shoulders.
“If the interstellar engines weren’t burnt out,” Jack murmurs again, and Ianto nudges him with his shoulder.
“I know. You’d take me to all kinds of wonderful planets.”
“The things I could show you,” Jack says longingly, with not a hint of innuendo.
Ianto smiles and lays his head on Jack’s shoulder, and tells him softly, “It’s fine. This is enough.”
Jack holds him close, looks up at the lights and says nothing to disagree.
And that’s enough.
