“Boyfriend,” Jack suggests, and Ianto wrinkles his nose, but says nothing. Jack kisses his collarbone and tries again.
“Partner. Husband –” At that Ianto raises an eyebrow, so he grins, and kisses the corner of his mouth. “Lover.”
Ianto stays silent, almost smiling, and Jack props himself up on both hands and looks down at him for a moment.
“Sweetheart?”
The eyebrow goes back up.
Jack laughs.
“Toyboy,” he teases, and kisses Ianto’s shoulder, then murmurs against his skin, “Cariad. Darling. Beautiful.”
Ianto makes no objection, so Jack trails his lips along his arm, continuing, “Gorgeous, lovely, wonderful –”
Ianto squirms slightly, and Jack grins, flicking a glance up at him.
“Sugar. Honey. Baby.”
The look Ianto gives him on that one makes him grin wider, and he licks Ianto’s arm and purrs, “Kitten.”
Ianto smacks him round the head, and he ducks just enough to take the sting out of it, laughing. He plants a hand either side of Ianto’s head again and thinks for a few moments, then says, “I give up. What should I call you?”
Sighing, Ianto tucks his hands under his head and shrugs against the sheets. Jack gazes down at him for a little longer, then rests one hand against his cheek and says simply, “Ianto.”
“Jack,” Ianto agrees, with a smile at last.
