I've been away to Inverness for a while with Mum. And boy oh boy does coming back home feel good!

Sure, the holiday was fun (one day we went on a trip to the Orkney isles and Skara Brae - VERY fun...) but illness caught up with me the night before we travelled home.

Running to the bathroom five times in one night is not fun, especially if you only end up sitting retching into the toilet... Too much detail, change of subject required!

Inverness also has Scotland's largest second hand bookshop - great news, we thought! (And anyone who knows me will be currently nodding or rolling eyes) However... well, Scotland's idea of a large second hand bookshop is a lot smaller than England's.

We still managed to spend plenty! And then we trotted around the Victorian Market and found some more second hand books... and spent some more. ^_^

Happyhappyhappy! So many Asimov books! :D:D

AND extra bonus double plus goodness of todayness: Tinywings' family came back from holiday! Yay!

^_^ My second home is restored to me!

Oooooh, and I did about half my Christmas and birthday shopping whilst in Inverness - I found a really good place to buy things from that nobody else will know about! Heh heh heh!

Aah, but I missed archery for the third time running... Last Monday it was raining so badly that it wasn't on (I don't think so, anyway) Friday I was in Inverness (blissfully unaware that two hours later I would be sorely regretting eating that pink cake from the cake stand Mum forced on me) and today... *sigh* today I'm shamefully weak, still. I strung the bow and pulled it, and I could just about manage that... ONCE. There was no way I could stand, walk, and shoot for two hours.

And that's what brings the day back down to a sane level of goodness... Because I really like archery, and I really hate missing it... *sniff*

But I did a lot of mental writing whilst away, and plenty of actual writing as well... Oddly, a lot of broken bones were involved. I'm still not quite sure why...

And I think I'm about ready to get to work on the "Lost" Challenge... It should be interesting to see if I can actually keep it under the word limit... It's quite a large idea.

My oh my, I need to cut down on the number of significant pauses... THERE I GO AGAIN!! Somebody stop me!

Anyway. Skara Brae was very interesting indeed. (For those of you who don't know, it's an extremely well preserved Neolithic village, which was occupied from before 3100 BC to around 2600 BC. To give you an idea about equivalent dates, the Pyramids of Giza were built in 2500 BC, and Stonehenge in 2100 BC. So Skara Brae is OLD! :D) And the whole timeline there ties in in a lovely way with Cade.

And, to throw titbits to a hungry reader waiting to see what on Earth Cade is, Orkney's Latin name is Orcadia.

*sighs happily* It all works SO WELL!

Now, if I can only start to write it... :D:D

Aw, poor li' Lali.

Still sounds like you had fun on your little spending spree. *rolls eyes*

The "lost" cahllenge sounds very promising. Much more promising than my little musings.

As for the quiz...I won't read too much into that; it had me down as being a "lost soul" and I'm pretty sure I'm only melancholy half the time.

Orcadia! Why does that word amuse me so much! It's like...I dunno, a haven for Orcs. Orkney sounds quirkier, nicer.

Looking forward to seeing the mysterious lost fic. :p

Aheheh...
