Right, so. Auditiony bit. Never even got there. Met one of the teachers in charge (the one who told me "Find another song and come back on Friday") on they way there, and she asked if I'd found anything. I told her I'd gone through Billy Joel's stuff and had a few in mind (but wasn't sure what would be best, considering how they'd turned down Sweet Dreams rather unexpectedly... I was wavering between Big Shot, My Life, and We Didn't Start the Fire - with a leaning towards We Didn't Start the Fire, because, though almost impossible to sing, it's great fun) and she said, "You may as well not bother. We're rather full."
Great. Thanks a bundle.
"You can help backstage if you want," she adds - because of course, I'm so totally enamoured of the idea of showbusiness (in school, yeah) that I'll do anything just to be near the stage. It's not like there are a hundred people who'd be better at backstage stuff than me (not just because they know what they're doing, but also because they don't want to be onstage...).
So I'll be going to Guides that night then, despite the fact I asked about having the night off. Stuff it.
Can you tell I'm a little... peeved... by this?
Anyway. Never mind. There'll be something similar at LJMU, no doubt, and it's not like I've never done anything of the kind before. Doesn't matter.
Bonus points though - got my D of E record book back. Now I just need to get everything signed off and there we are. One Gold Award nicely completed.
