(: The whole "mental superpower" thing was basically just that one of the characters has acquired a power (telepathy, telekinesis) controlled by the mind. How they got it was entirely up to us, and my negative comments only complained that they hadn't got a clue what was going on. So the "telepathic linking" idea didn't really come across. Oh well.
