Mmm, might be that one of my other fandom's villains heroes helped a bit here, but I got the plot fine without the explanation in white. (Well, not during the first few lines, but that's what makes it fun.) Although I suppose one might argue that 'getting other people stuck in your head due to accidentally activating an alien device' doesn't quite count as a 'mental superpower' ... maybe?
