laliginI really want to post more fic. It's got to the point where I'm only really putting up those with deadlines and that annoys me. (Although the Flavours list is gradually growing, which is nice...) So here's a drabble-plus-one. Ie, 101 words - though according to my imaginative writing tutors (hurrah! Course at last!) this is called a dwarf. Strange, that.
Anyway. It's anonymous, but I had Jack in mind while writing it.

Denial
The first time he killed someone, it was necessary, terrifying, and difficult, and gave him nightmares for months afterwards. But he remembered it was kill or be killed, and he’d had no choice.
What he didn’t remember was the emptiness in her eyes as she took aim. Really, he didn’t. It didn’t haunt him when he lay awake at night, he didn’t wonder if those he’d killed since had seen the same look on his face, and he most certainly didn’t avoid his own eyes in the mirror every day, just in case.
