Oooh, sparkly... (He's behind you!)

So shadowbyrd and I went to see The Barrowman in panto last night. Oh, the hilarity. Rather good ventriloquist, a bucketful of innuendo, a side order of corpsing/fluffed lines, a giant terrifying evil robot, a magnificent sorceress, some excellent songs (Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, plus random Spamalot interlude!), random ice-skating, and sparkly tinselly ribbony things dropped on us at the end. (*has sparkly, will decorate bedroom*)

No John at the stage door (we didn't go; had heard rumours he wasn't doing anything anyway, and this was confirmed for us after the show).

But! Bonus points: Unexpected laurab1! Two rows in front of us, and we bumped into her afterwards, too. (: Always good! (*wave*) ('Twas she who confirmed the rumours...)

Further bonus points: Before the show we wandered Birmingham, and I found some stringy type stuff that might just do for a John!Jacket, if it's golded up a little. 12 metres' worth for £2. I should have enough... (: Also got a good picture of Cap'n John, from Nostalgia and Comics. Probably not at all official, but shiny and pretty and allowed me to count the buttons on the right of the jacket, so yays.

So aside from a slight lack of sleep, I think that was a pretty good weekend.
