*fidget* So much fanfic to write. And filk, actually. (For those not in the know, that's the fine art of putting fandom appropriate words to well known songs, or generally making fandom songs. I include poetry in there, though I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Still, you can kinda sing/rap (horror!) rhyming couplets, so...)

Still sulking about [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer, by the way.

And it is so incredibly difficult to get online these days. Whenever I have time, my brother's on instead. He's so used to me not being here that I'm not factored into the PC-usage equation any more. Frustrating.

All this might go some way to explaining the new result when I retook an old test. The encouragingly titled "Are You Depressed" test. Original result, 30th December 2006 - Your Depression Level: 0%. Nice. New result, 12th June, 2008 - Your Depression Level: 68%. (You seem to have moderate depression. Your symptoms are bad enough that they're effecting your everyday life. You would benefit greatly from professional help. First off, they're AFFECTING my everyday life, not EFFECTING it. Secondly, you are but an internet test, how dare you tell me to seek professional help! Even Ianto only went to online counselling, and that's hardly professional! What do you think: new result, your depression level 30%, your anger level 150%...)

On a more positive note, having been lost and despairing with fanfic and books in general for quite a while, I'm rather enjoying (I'm not very far in, things could go horribly wrong yet) Scott Lynch's Lies of Locke Lamora. There have been a couple of moments of really startling originality and imagination so far, which have left me so astounded and delighted (and horrifically jealous) I've had to put the book down and go find my mum to tell her about them.

They're also going some way to feeding the poor, neglected, starving little original-fic plotbunnies I've been tending for years now. They've begun to pick up, get a little more bright-eyed, and multiply again. (Why did they not do this when I had coursework to do? Honestly...)

So, lots of fanfic to write, a few original-fic ideas to nurture, and... oh. A meme to complete. :P

So, nabbed from [livejournal.com profile] gogo_didi: (and taking the "wouldn't kick out of bed" to mean exactly what it says, teddy-bear list to follow)

List 10 fictional characters you wouldn't kick out of bed (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same.

1. Ianto Jones (Torchwood)
2. Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood, Doctor Who)
3. Toshiko Sato (Torchwood (Doctor Who!))
4. Ilya Kuryakin (Man From U.N.C.L.E)
5. Benton Fraser (Due South)
6. Murphy (Remington Steele)
7. Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)
8. Daniel Jackson (Stargate)
9. MacGyver (duh)
10. Fai (Tsubasa)

Um. I must be being dense. I can't think who else. Books, films, further TV programs, no one springs to mind... And my fictional characters don't count... (Sorry guys. Liri, please, don't go for the knives... It's not my fault, I tell you!)

Amendment! I have my tenth. If cartoon/anime characters count, that is...

*waves hands* Five random people on my friends list, consider yourselves tagged. Yes, you!
