Ohh noooo...
Apr. 25th, 2007 03:44 pmI've been offline (almost completely) for two weeks or more. First off I was proofreading a friend's dissertation (12 thousand word essay for the final year of university. And he's at Cambridge) and then my brother was writing his (only 5 thousand words for his. But an 18 thousand word interview had to be typed up...) so I couldn't get on the computer. And, y'know, it was kind of important so I had to give way really.
Except that I then found out that he hadn't really been working on it that much, but instead had been procrastinating online etc. Which annoyed me muchly. 'Cause that's my job, and nobody else should get to use the computer for that. :P
So I ended up helping him get the thing sorted, and then proofreading it and making him finish it off and get it all printed out and bound up and handed in on time. (Just.)
And then I went to do the homework I hadn't done because I'd been helping him instead. And I went to catch up on the work I'd missed from lessons I'd skipped to stay home and help him instead.
And then my brain melted and I was busy being all collapsed on the sofa with laptop, notebook and happy (and not-happy) Torchwood ideas to sort out.
But now I'm back. And slowly catching up on everything.
I'm currently 240 entries back on my friends-list (reading Communities Only (!) because it was quicker to sort out Journals Only first) and slogging forwards. And trawling through everything on Legion of Literates too, which doesn't look so happy. There appears to have been a fight or two. Hmph.
(And I had a look at giving Shira colour-altering powers, but that involves definite admin status and as far as I can tell it doesn't seem possible to restrict one person's powers and not everyone's in that group. Two admins is (read, should be) plenty for LoL as things stand.
Although. I could make myself an alternate account, transfer my stats and pictures over, make Shira admin, and flee for the hills myself... That has certain attractions on the what-a-sensible-idea side. Shira is less erratic than me... Hrm.)
