Summary: Jack and Ianto are captured by the last four survivors of an alien invasion force...
Prompt: Jantolution Challenge 5 - Prompt: My Immortal
Underestimated
Jack gasped and flailed his way back to life for the fourth time in an hour, only to be shot again before he’d finished reorienting himself.
Even when Jack was dead, Ianto reflected, his presence could still be felt in the way that their captors shot repeated nervous glances at his corpse, and one of them kept the gun trained on him at all times, clasping its free hand to its still-bleeding wounds. Another was keening softly in the corner, while a third tried everything it could think of to staunch its injuries, plainly not understanding why they weren’t just healing straight back over as they should.
Ianto could have told them, but he was busy being stubbornly silent while the fourth asked him (with increasing desperation) how they could make good their escape and flee the planet.
He might have been more inclined to help them if there hadn’t been twenty-five of them when they’d first arrived, and if they’d managed to restrain themselves from attempting to take over the world and casually killing anyone who’d got in their way, and if they’d just stop shooting Jack. He knew fine well that it wasn’t going to have any particular lasting effect, but it was taking all of his self-control to stop himself from giving in to the protective urge and doing something very stupid to save one of Jack’s many lives, instead of being sensible and waiting for the others to turn up and take these four prisoner.
And then the fourth alien made the mistake of losing its self-control when he knelt there in complete silence, hands tied behind his back, and merely smiled when it begged him to help them escape before they ran out of bullets and Jack wreaked revenge on them. It slapped him.
And Ianto lost his temper.

Jack gasped and flailed his way back to life after a solid half an hour of being dead, and had a chance to figure out where and when he was. The very localised version of where was actually quite pleasant – cradled in Ianto’s lap, his hair being stroked slowly. Ianto smiled at him, and he managed a weak smile in return, then twisted to look around a little more.
The final four aliens were piled neatly against the opposite wall, quite dead.
“What happened?” he muttered, and felt Ianto’s hand still for a moment before he continued stroking Jack’s hair.
“The others will be here soon,” Ianto said, avoiding Jack’s question. “I thought I’d wait for you to wake up before trying to break us out of here.”
“Ianto –” Jack began, but fell silent when he saw the look in Ianto’s eyes.
Very quietly, Ianto told him, “Nobody plays with you like that. Nobody.”
“I am immortal,” Jack reminded him weakly.
“I know,” Ianto said softly. “But you’re mine.”

I wasn't expecting it to be like this but it was just so perfect!
(Can see how Harry Potter wouldn't have fitted in though)
I'm favouriting that!

And I'm quite relieved it balanced alright. I was a little worried the aliens weren't quite evil enough to deserve their cruel fate... ^_^'

Love stories where we see just what our mild-mannered tea boy is capable of.
