I have two days...

... until the end of the current Jantolution challenge. I'm frantically working on a fic for the My Immortal prompt, and busy turning over a few drabble ideas as backup in case I don't type quick enough, and I've already covered Himalaya, Crack!fic, and Jack Returns with Tourism in Lockdown, but - and this is the key point - I have no idea what to do with the Harry Potter prompt.

None at all. This doesn't usually happen to me.

Hmph.

Anything you guys want to see (preferably a reasonably short idea...)? Otherwise I'll have to try and think of something very quickly, and it probably won't be any good.

But I have to have a fic ready for it! I've completed every Jantolution challenge so far, it's a matter of pride/obsessive-compulsiveness now... (Mara, you have me more than hooked. *shakefist* :P)

Darnit.

Heh. Good idea. ;) Unless it's already got away...

(Oh, and if you ever want a beta who'll happily attack commas, full stops, speech-marks and minor details in a frenzy of correct-ness that would shock all but the most pedantic of readers, just ask. ;) )

Well might as well try it.

Hellenebright BETA's for me at the moment but when you're dislexic like me then any help is nice so I may take you up on that!

Sure thing - I just remember that your NotSoBigHeaded fic wasn't betad, and I'm usually a fairly quick beta, so I thought I'd offer. :)

I noramally do get my stuff BETAed *crosses fingures* but i didn't want to bother her because I remember that I wrote it early in the morning.

I probally will take you up on that.

I do a bit of BETAing but not BETAing the spelling/grammer I do BETAing the story itself, like I'm BETAing a story for a girl who's writing a story with Jack and her own character but it's set in Torchwood and she's never seen Torchwood in her life and I get given Doctor Who stories from my friend (rosetyler4ever) to check for mistakes because in her words, 'I seem to have learn the serie soff by heart'

[identity profile] laligin.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. I've fairly learnt Torchwood off by heart, too. And while I'm good at catching mistakes that don't quite follow canon or suchlike, I'm always hesitant to comment on someone else's plot/characterisation too much. Sounds like we're the perfect Beta opposites. :D

[identity profile] phantomreviewer.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, I catch the tinyest of mistakes like rosetyler4ever was writting somethign about a dalek
'and a green flash of light came out of it's laser weapon and the Doctor fell down, dead'
And I was like, Daleks rays are blue and as evidence I got up a screen shot of a dalek firing.
The fact I am obbesssive over my Doctor Who makes me a useful person in those situations!

Well for these people it's my 'job' to compent on plot and characteriseation, I sometimes do a bit of brit-picking is it called? You know changing cola to coke and stuff like that for Amanda but mostly I'm a plotting BETA.

We're the opposites! Totally!

:-D

*giggles* See, I wouldn't have been too sure about that, but I would have squealed, "A possessive "its" has no apostrophe!!" :D That amuses me far more than it should.

*celebrates our differences* ^_^

[identity profile] phantomreviewer.livejournal.com 2007-07-30 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah well...

It is funny, when you think about it!

*celebrates as well*

Being different is brilliant!
