Take Me Home

Jack had been exploring the TARDIS when he’d found the music room. Intrigued, he’d heard a few songs from other planets before asking aloud, “What have you got from Earth?”

He’d been amused by the title of the song the TARDIS had selected for him – Starlight, appropriately – up until he’d started listening to the words.

The Doctor found him an hour later, sobbing into his hands as the TARDIS ruthlessly played song after song of loneliness and loss. He’d never suspected the ship could be so manipulative.

“Jack?”

“Doctor, take me home. Just… take me home.”

Ianto’s waiting for me.

Heh, I won't fuss at you about it.

You know what this fic reminded me of? I used to do a radio show, and once in a while I would put together one of these really, really obvious sets (I mean, if it was a guy named John, I'd find a song called "I Love You John" or what have you) intended to make Boy Crush Of The Week think "oh, I should ask her out". Note that this NEVER WORKED. :-P The Tardis kicks my ass as a DJ.
